Mustang Grille Delete Installation Video: Mach 1 Style (SVE 1999-2004)
1999-2004 Mustangs were cursed with an ugly honey-comb style factory grille. That all changed with the introduction of the 2003-04 Mach 1. These special edition Stangs featured a factory GT bumper with the addition of a chin spoiler and grille delete from the factory. These parts added an aggressive styling and in the case of the grille delete, even added some increased cooling performance! The Mach 1 grille delete and chin spoiler quickly became the must have parts for the all 99-04 Mustang GT and V6 models.
Our SVE grille delete is an improvement upon the Ford Mach 1 version. It simplifies the installation; making this the ultimate exterior mod for any New Edge Mustang! With the SVE version you do not have to attach the lower hardware, also known as pal nuts. It features a support lip that makes for a simple slide on installation. Follow along in the video to see just how easy it is to install one of our SVE grille deletes!

Get rid of the ugly honeycomb grille on your '99 to '04 Mustang GT or V6, and replace it with one of our SVE mach 1 grille delete kits. Start by removing the six screw center push pins along the top of the grille and on each side of the bumper grille opening. Remove both headlights from the car by pulling the two retainers and unplugging the bulbs.
Pull the bumper and grille forward to access the four screws retaining the grille to the bumper. Use a seven millimeter socket to remove the screws, and the grille comes free of the bumper. Clean the grille opening.
Take a marker, and mark the backing panel, as you'll need to make a hole for the new grille emblem. Remove the backing panel by removing the two retaining screws and two push pins. Drill a half inch hole, and reinstall the panel.
What sets our SVE grille delete apart from the rest are these clips than make installation a breeze. Engage those clips on the bumper. Slide the grille delete into place, and install the provided push pins. Engage the grille emblem retaining tab in the hole you drilled, and install the supplied screws or reuse your existing screws.
Reinstall to the screw center push pins to retain the radiator cover. Reinstall the headlights. What a drastic transformation for not a lot of time or money. This grille delete kit is available on its own or in one of our SVE appearance kits, like we installed on this car.
