The Mustang Carcoal Canister is located on the Passenger Side (RH) frame rail between the Anti-Sway Bar mount & the Radiator. It filters & retains fuel vapors from the Gas Tank (Fuel Tank) & prevents them from entering the atmosphere. Under cruise conditions, the PCM opens the Mustang Canister Purge Valve & allows those vapors to be burnt off in the normal combustion process of the engine.
