This UPR K-Member and Coil-Over Kit for your 1979-93 Mustang with a 5.0L based engine includes 12" 200lb coil over springs. This spring rate would provide a slightly softer than stock ride while still maintaining good street handling characteristics on full weight cars. We recommend this kit for street and strip applications.
UPR's Chrome-moly K-member kit will save more weight and exceed any strength limitations of mild steel, while allowing maximum header and oil pan clearance. This kit was designed for the abuse of dragrace and Street Enthusiasts, most importantly it will handle the everyday wear and tear of city & highway streets like that was it's main intent.
3. Coil over kit with exclusive design adjuster nut, includes new set screw design to ensure it never looses it's setting! They require no tools to adjust and Eibach springs for unmatchable ride quality.
When you see this kit in person you will be astonished with the quality of the components and welds, better than OEM. All while still retaining all factoy wheel and engine locations.
We recommend a bumpsteer kit with this product.
Caster Camber plates are required for this product to fit correctly.
**requires shorter steering rack bolts
I don't want to be that guy, but do you have to buy a specific shock/strut to go with a "coil over kit" or does the kit go over the existing shock/strut? Asked by Killian R. from Gainesville | Comment00
Best Answer: While you would benefit from a stiffer strut, it is not required. These will assemble onto factory style struts. Answered by Karson S.from Hewitt | Comment00
I purchaced this kit for my '85 foxbody, and overall I am pretty pleased with it. The kit came packaged well and the only fault I had was that there were no parts lists/instructions for the kit. The only pieces that I was unsure of though was two washer/spacers that, from the research I done, is for the rack. Install went smooth considering some other threads I've seen. The rack was tough to get on and the coilover sleeves were loose on the struts, but a layer of duct tape underneath the sleeves worked perfect and helped with any noise. Ended up grinding both motor mount nipples to get the engine dropped in. Other than that, rides great and the clearance is amazing! Shaved alot of weight with it too. I usually don't review products but since I noticed there was not a review for this, I wanted to get one out there.
In 1989, Mark Mainiero and his son Joe started UPR Products with Mustangs in mind. With the help of their employees Jeremy Martorella and Bart Tobener, they brought in more racing victories and records than any other shop of that time. In 1998, Joe recognized the need for a company that fully understood the Mustang racer's suspension needs. While making customer service his main priority, he strived to offer the strongest, lightest, and highest quality parts at an affordable price. A firm believer in the “keep it simple” philosophy Joe made sure all his components could be easily installed and adjusted. Shop UPR for high quality Mustang performance and dress up components.
