Jmac: If you've ever wondered how difficult it is to install a set of vinyl decals on your Mustang, we're going to show you just how easy it is by installing set of our tail light decals on this 2012 Mustang. Couple of things you're going to want to have plenty of is time, patience, and also one of our SVE decal installation kits.
You'll want to start out with this area clean, so if you need to wash your car before hand, go and do that. Start by eyeballing your decal and trimming it before installation. For this particular decal, I trimmed closely along the bottom edge for a baseline and then trimmed out inside the reverse light openings for proper positioning.
Peel the protective backing off. Spray the decal with the SVE decal solution. Lightly apply the decal in place, properly align it, and start using the squeegee in the SVE decal installation kit to smooth all the water out from behind the decal.
Let it dry for 15 to 20 minutes, squeegee begin, and carefully start peeling back the adhesive paper. Keep your squeegee at hand, and wipe over the decal slightly if needed.
Fully remove the adhesive paper, wipe down over the entire decal, and work out any air bubbles. Any small air bubbles that remain, don't worry. They'll come out after a few days in the sun.
And there you go. Time, patience, and the right tools, you can have any decal kit installed on your Mustang in no time at all. Check out latemodelrestoration.com's full line of decals for 1979 to present Mustangs today.

The stripe turned out well. Very happy with it and it was exactly what I expected. One thing that may have helped in the shipping however, the stripe was rolled in a protective canister that was pretty tight. It may have caused some wrinkleing in the vynil. Which made the application a longer process to smooth out. But all in all very happy with the end result.
Yes, I would recommend this item to a friend!

Looks really sharp., but not exactly easy.

The striping material was first rate. I actually installed these twice. I learned a lot the first time, and wanted a really professional installation so did it over. My first time to work with this sort of thing. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found NO instructions. Didn't find any on the LLR web site. I was relieved to find detailed instructions online. Although I am now satisfied with the result, I found the process to be pretty stressful. (I no longer am entertaining the idea of wide La Mans stripes. ) I was more successful putting the stripes on in three sections rather than one whole piece. I also found it helped to use painters tape as a guide. Would I recommend this product to a friend, only if they let me help them put it on. Or if they have had experience working with tape. I ordered the install kit. I found that the liquid spray stuff did not leave the car slick enough to move the decal around. Better to use your own soap and water mixture. Btw, removing the first stripe after less than a week was harder then I thought it would be. When the stripe dries it's definitely stuck there. :).

Had a problem with an order/quality issue. I put up a review stating so, and was contacted by Mike Linley, who was soooo nice and sooo professional, I almost felt bad about my review !! I felt the review was necessary because of bad welds/paint. Mike explained that they had a particular issue with that supplier and they had changed suppliers because of it. I must have mistakenly got an old set. (upper/lower Control arms-Foxbody). Mike asked a few questions, and was Sending me an updated replacement set while we were on the phone.!!! This is what I wish all Vendors would do; no arguments, no blame, no B.S. !! This is why LateModel stands out as an upstanding company, and backs up their products with AWESOME Customer service.
