4 Stars   Noticeable Difference
By on 7/16/2015
The Steeda Brace was easy to install. I jacked the rear wheels off the ground and installed the brace so there was no pressure on the shocks. Note: I had to drop the car slightly to get the nut threaded on and then raised it again off the ground. By tightening the nuts with the wheels off the ground, the shock was raised and centered in the brace. Before taking off the nuts, I measured the depth they were tightened to and reinstalled them to same depth minus the thickness of the brace. It took me about 8 hours, but the majority of the time was spent trying to reinstall the trunk liner without having to trim it. But that didn't happen, So it took a while to fine the right tool/s to use to do the trimming: a saw used to cut plastics, a Dremel drill and a razor knife. I spent a lot of time trying to trim a minimal amount of the liner. I also cut a small portion out of an old rubber inner tube, made a hole for the shock top to fit through and laid down that piece of rubber under brace, just to protect the painted surfaces. I tried placing a number of items/materials between the brace and car body to make the fit tighter, but nothing worked that I tried. On a 2002 it's a pretty tight fit already. I can notice the difference in my area of the world with bumpy roads, especially when coming off a stop sign and turning left onto another bumpy road and trying to shift gears. The rear end is more stable now, may not be perfect, but I don't want to have the brace welded in place. It took 8 hours because I'm a perfectionist and take time to analyze every move. It can be done in 30 minutes.

5 Stars   Steeda Rear Strut Tower Brace
By on 6/4/2015
I had one of these installed on the rear strut towers of my '95 GT.

It tightened up the rear end and stopped the swaying I always felt coming from the rear end when I go into curves.

My installer recommended this rear tower brace and told me initially that it could be bolted in; no welding required.

At installation time it was discovered that the brace needed to be welded in, which would require removing the rear seats, the carpet sections under the rear seats, and any vinyl / plastic parts around the area that's to be welded in order to prevent a fire hazard. There was also alittle carpet modification / trimming that had to be done in order to complete the installation.

I agreed to the additional cost and had the brace installed. The installation went very well; no problems!

One suggestion: Obtain an estimate of the labor cost prior to having this part installed, especially if it needs welding in.

5 Stars   Solid build, great fit
By on 4/13/2015
Bought this for my 82 mustang to reinforce the rear. It is going to be used as a drift car so rigidity is IMPORTANT. I must say, this thing fits like a glove. Perfect alignment to the strut towers, and when the chassis is on the ground (and flexing might I say), the bar doesn't want to slide all the way down on the tower!! That is snug! Once the bolts start to tighten though the bar comes right down like it should.

The car in general feels a little snappier, but truth be told, it has a long way to go before its up to true rigid spec (control arms, chassis reinforcement, roll cage, bla bla). I will say though, that this DID make a difference in controlling the car, and I would hands down buy it again!

5 Stars   Very good part
By on 3/20/2015
This was easy to install and once on the vehicle, surpassingly made a noticeable difference in the rigidity of the rear suspension. Also a great way to mount rear 4 or 5 point harnesses in a custome back seat. Well worth the price.

4 Stars   These are weld in only
By on 12/26/2014
These are weld in only and there is about an 1/4 inch gap on either side of the base of the bar. Easy to fix with a filler plate though on both sides. Excited to have it installed.
