Dingy headlights suck!
How many 1987-93 Fox body Mustangs have you seen driving around with dingy, yellow sometimes cracked headlights? Unless your Mustang has been sheltered its whole life in a dark, air tight container you have almost certainly experienced the dreaded yellow headlights. It's amazing how something as insignificant as a dull headlight can ruin your Mustang's overall appeal. And considering how easy and inexpensive it is to install a new set of headlights, side markers and park lamps it's funny how many people overlook this seemingly small detail.
Big power, dull lights
More often than not people want their Mustang to go FAST! Understandably so... After all, it is what they were designed to do. But eventually you need to pay attention to the aesthetics of your Mustang. I'm not saying that you need to install a wing and a body kit, but if your Mustang has 400 horsepower and runs 12's while still sporting dingy headlights it may be time to invest at least a little bit on your Mustang's outer appearance. If you are guilty of this you have come to the right place. A new headlight kit for your Mustang is the PERFECT place to start your exterior restoration!
Not only does it look shabby running around town with faded and dingy headlights but it's also a safety hazard. You would be amazed how big of a difference a new head light kit will make in the night time visibility department! Imagine you are cruising down a country road late a night with a set of worn out headlights when a deer jumps out in front on you; wouldn't you rather be equipped with a brand new shiny set of headlights and sidemarkers from Latemodel Restoration Supply?
1 year warranty on all of the lights we sell
Although the manufacturer does not always warranty their products, we do! If you consider buying lights from Latemodel Restoration Supply you can be assured that we will stand behind them! We only use the best possible manufacturers when selecting our products. We have heard of other companies telling their customers to bake their lights in an oven or run silicone around the seams to fix or prevent leak issues. Not here! If for some reason there is a defective light assembly we will simply replace it, no questions asked, for 1 year from the date of purchase. Not only do we like to offer our customers the best value, we back it up with the best service!
These lights are for off-road or show use only!

Don't forget the matching Fog Lights to complete the transformation of your Fox Mustang's front end.
'87 to '93 Mustangs were originally equipped from the factory with six-piece headlight kit. Now a very common update is to go with a one-piece style headlight. Not all one-piece style headlights are created equal. For starters, ours are covered with our no hassle warranty. Plus, they're adjustable. That way you can aim your headlight beam exactly where you need it, unlike most of the others on the market. These do require a little bit of extra wiring. We'll show you what is needed. Because of the new connectors, we have the bulbs you need to get these headlights installed. Let's go ahead and show you what's required.
We've got some junkie looking headlights on this '90 model coupe. They're yellowed, faded, and not even passing any light anymore. First step is go ahead and get these out of the way. I'm not even going to bore you with the details because it's a pretty straightforward operation.
Remove your side marker, park light, finally the headlight. And save four of the attaching nuts because you'll need those for your new one-piece headlight. With the lights out of the way go ahead and clean up the headlight bucket. Get rid of all that dirt and bugs that are built up in there.
To splice in the new connectors, start with your side marker. Grab your new connector and you'll notice it has a black wire and a white wire. On your factory harness, you'll want the black wire to go to the black wire, and the white wire to go to the brown wire.
On the turn signal slash park lamp, brown, black, and white with a green stripe on your factory harness. The black wire from the new connector goes to the black wire on your factory harness. The yellow wire on your new connector goes to the white wire with the green stripe on the factory harness. And then, the green wire goes to the brown wire on the factory harness. Go ahead trim your factory plugs off. Trim the new harnesses down to length. Solder your connections, and heat shrink and tape everything back up.
Time to install the bulbs. For your side marker, you can reuse your factory bulb. On your park lamp slash turn signal, if you have an '87 to '89, you can reuse your factory bulb. If you've got a '90 to '93, you will need to pick up a pair of 2357NA bulbs. You can reuse your factory headlamp bulb.
Go ahead slide everything in to position, reinstall the nuts, and repeat all these steps for the other side. Now on the driver's side park, turn light, the yellow wire is going to go to the green wire with yellow stripe.
To adjust your headlights, take a Phillips head screwdriver and turn the adjuster and get the bulbs pointed exactly where you need them.
All right, not too bad for about 45 minutes work. To pick up your set of one-piece headlights for your '87 to '93 Mustang, hop on over to latemodelrestoration.com.

JONATHAN MCDONALD: So you've replaced the headlights in your Mustang, and your first time out driving at night reveals that they really don't light up the road at all. It's definitely not a light transmission problem. It's all about the adjustment, or lack thereof. Just because your new headlight's bolted right in, doesn't mean you're done with the install. If you own an '87 to '93, '94 to '98, or '99 to '04 Mustang, we're going to show you how to stage your car up for the adjustment procedure, what you're going to need, where the adjusters are, and what they do.
First and foremost, what you're going to want to do is find you a place that's going to be as dark as possible, flat level ground. Move your car all the way up against that wall or door as close as you can get it without touching. Turn your headlights on.
Grab you some blue painter's tape or something equivalent. Any type of masking tape will work. Make you a horizontal tape line across each one of the light beams and make you a vertical tape line across the center of each one of the light beams. Now move your car back 25 feet.
Now a handy tool to have in your arsenal is this headlight adjusting wrench. It'll work on '87 to '98. On an '87 to '93, here's where your horizontal adjuster is and here's where your vertical adjuster is. Go ahead and use your tool to either move the adjuster in or out, depending on where the beam is pointing at. And you want that beam to land, final adjustment, where the beam is just down and to the right of where your tape lines intersect.
On a '94 to '98 Mustang, remove your radiator cover so you can have full access to your inside adjusters. Here's your horizontal adjuster and here's your vertical adjuster. Adjustment process is the same as it was on the Fox body.
On a '99 to '04 car, man, they made it a whole lot easier. It is super simple to adjust these headlights. All you need is a Phillips' head screwdriver. Here's your horizontal adjuster and here's your vertical adjuster.
Go drive your Mustang and enjoy the clarity of having properly adjusted headlights. Go on over to latemodelrestoration.com and check out more Mustang lighting solutions.
