(1) Pinion Depth Setting Tool
This Pinion Depth Setting Tool from Ratech will allow you to select the proper pinion shim for setting up a new rear gear set in your 1986-2014 Mustang equipped with an 8.8" Rear End. Please keep in mind that replacing rear gears in a Mustang requires advanced mechanical ability. If you feel you fall in to this category, this pinion depth tool is an economical asset to your tool assortment.
NOTE: Beyond selecting the proper pinion shim, several other specialty tools are required to properly set up a gear set in your Mustang. These include a dial or digital caliper, dial indicator with mag base, & an inch-lb beam type torque wrench. We always recommend the professional installation of your new rear gear set by a qualified shop.
