Direct replacement for OEM rubber control arm bushings
What's in the Box
(1) set Polyurethane bushings for 99-04 Cobra IRS Control Arms
Your Mustang is built using rubber bushings in control arms, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars, spring isolaters, and struts. Rubber bushings are soft and pliable. They offer superior insulation from noise and harshness, but they cost you in parformance and durability. Urethane is a harder, more durable substance. When used in suspension components and drivetrain mounts, they provide increased performance due to the lack of deflection as well as increased durability and resistance to contaminating fluids such as oil and transmission fluid. Prothane is dedicated to producing the highest quality urethane components on the market today. All of Prothane's products carry a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Urethane control arm bushings deflect less for better handling and straight-line traction. Complete sets include bushings for upper and lower arms unless otherwise noted. Original bushing shells must be re-used inless otherwise noted.
I was looking to sharpen up the handling of my 2001 Cobra while still having a nice driving Street car so Polyurethane was the way to go. With this prothane IRS bushing upgrade, the car is still quiet and handles really good without get hit hard and beat to death by cluncking and slamming noises that you would get from harsh riding Delrin or UHMW bushings. Plus, the prothane bushings are significantly cheaper than delrin and UHMW bushings. To finish off with the mustang IRS upgrades, I would suggest Maximimum Motorsports IRS subframe, diff mount polyurethane bushings and the IRS toe link bumpsteer kit. As always LRS has good prices and fast shipping!

Lifted or lowered suspensions, increases in horsepower, plus-size wheels and tires can subject traditional rubber suspension bushings to forces beyond their limits. Control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars and shocks all control movement and maintain alignment but the rubber bushings they use are designed for more "middle of the road" use. Rubber also deteriorates over time, further reducing control. This contributes to premature component failure, a "spongy" ride and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane bushings can correct these conditions, and improve drivability in your Mustang or Ford Lightning.
Everytime I have delt with LateModel, it seems to get better and better. I have had all positive experiences which is much more than i can say about Summit, or American Muscle. I like the mom and pop shop feel i get when i deal with LateModel. We had a family buisness turning wrenches and a huge part of our success was customer service. Specifically treating every single female as how we would want our sister of mother treated when going to a buisness. We were always more than fair, accommodating and made sure to make all of our customers leave with a smile. And it worked. 30 years later my brother is still in buisness. Yesterday, I got that same type of treatment by Ian. Thank you Ian, you really went above and beyond like this was your personal buisness. Late Model, you just def locked in another lifelong customer thanks to Ian. Semper Fi
