Direct replacement for OEM rubber control arm bushings
What's in the Box
(1) set Polyurethane bushings for 96-04 Mustang Front Control Arms
As rubber bushings wear out over time, replace your front control arm bushings with Prothane urethane bushings for better handling and better performance. Molded in black.
Fits all 96-04 models with Factory Hydro Bushings. These hydro Bushings are usually found in Cobra models but have been found in some GT applications.
Must re-use original bushing shells.
IMPORTANT NOTE--You must check your bushings to determine if they are standard bushings or Hydro-bushings. To determine the type of bushings in your front control arms, use a screwdriver to pry on the metal flange of the rearward bushing of the front control arm. If the metal flange is rigid and is one piece with the pressed-in metal shell, you have standard bushings. If the metal flange is movable and independent from the pressed-in metal shell, you have hydro-bushings.
I bought these to replace my old rubber bushings. I had a machine shop burn/press out the old rubber bushings. I found that one control arm had the hydro bushings and the other did not. I bought these and received them in less than a week. I installed these myself, using a lot of lube with no problems (I did not reuse the hydro sleeve).
Lifted or lowered suspensions, increases in horsepower, plus-size wheels and tires can subject traditional rubber suspension bushings to forces beyond their limits. Control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars and shocks all control movement and maintain alignment but the rubber bushings they use are designed for more "middle of the road" use. Rubber also deteriorates over time, further reducing control. This contributes to premature component failure, a "spongy" ride and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane bushings can correct these conditions, and improve drivability in your Mustang or Ford Lightning.
As a deployed service member, there are not many avenues of contacting companies back home conveniently. Between the time difference and use of wifi or morale phones, it can be challenging. Luckily the team at LateModel Restoration emailed me back quickly and gave me everything that I needed for a smoothe purchase, and a few more that followed. They were quick in reply and quick to help me out and I have my parts on the way to my home now because of it. I will be shopping here primarily and I recommend it highly to fellow Mustang folks.
