Product Description

This is a set of Prothane rear spring isolators for your 1983-2004 Ford Mustang. The spring isolators main purpose is to reduce noise associated when the supension goes through its normal range of motion. If the spring isolators are missing, you would have metal to metal contact which would produce unwanted creaking and popping in the rear suspension during load shifting.

NOTE: WILL NOT FIT 99-04 COBRA

Bought these along with the H&R SS Springs to replace worn out factory Isolators and am very happy with the quality and construction of Prothane! Definitely worth the extra few bucks, the ride quality has definitely changed for the better.

I purchased these while replacing rear upper and lower control arms. It was an obvious thing to have for the changeout.
They fit well and properly.
Have these on hand when doing any rear end work requiring spring removal.

Image uploaded by Chris C. If you don't believe LateModel's recommendation, look at my picture. If you're replacing your springs or servicing your suspension. Replace these. Mine only had 33k miles on them and look how destroyed they were!!

These isolators are a MUST for anyone who is restoring their rear suspension or lowering their car. The factory isolators are a much softer rubber and these firm up the ride just a touch.

  A MUST

If you have an old foxbody like me these are a MUST when upgrading springs or control arms. Stock ones were so old, and corroded that they literally shattered to pieces.

pretty happy with purchase. bottoms don't fit maximum motorsports LCA's. don't know about other brand LCA's. otherwise tops fit fine.
From LatemodelRestoration.com®: They take a little effort, but they will fit over the spring cup on MM control arms.

  Works as described

Recently installed these along with new control arms in the rear. A lot less noise going over bumps now. These fit great and got the rear of the car up about a 1/2" which to me was needed since the car was lowered quite a bit when I bought it. Happy with the results!

About This Brand

Prothane
Lifted or lowered suspensions, increases in horsepower, plus-size wheels and tires can subject traditional rubber suspension bushings to forces beyond their limits. Control arms, strut arms, leaf springs, body mounts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, sway bars and shocks all control movement and maintain alignment but the rubber bushings they use are designed for more "middle of the road" use. Rubber also deteriorates over time, further reducing control. This contributes to premature component failure, a "spongy" ride and less than ideal performance handling. Urethane bushings can correct these conditions, and improve drivability in your Mustang or Ford Lightning.
