(2) Mustang Slotted Brake Rotors
(1) Break In Instructions
This rotor pair fits 1984-86 SVO's and 1987-93 5.0L's with a 5 lug conversion performed. These Stop Tech Mustang brake rotors are sold as a pair and offer long lasting and better stopping power over factory Mustang brake rotors.
Mustang Stop Tech brake rotors are finished in a durable black e-coat on the hat, edges and internal vanes to prevent corrosion. The braking surfaces are left in a bare iron finish to improve brake pad bed-in.
Stop Tech rotors are a direct replacement for your factory Mustang rotors. This Mustang application features our Power Alloy metallurgy with increased Molybdenum content for maximum thermal resistance. For best results, follow the "Brake Pad Bed-In" instructions included with every shipment. Brake caliper service or rebuild is recommended for Mustangs with higher mileage.
Excessive heat can cause resins in your Mustang brake pad to vaporize or "outgas." As the brake pad wears, the used friction material turns into a fine dust. This boundary layer of heat, gas and dust builds up between the pad and rotor surfaces and inhibits performance. Here's where Stop Tech's Mustang slotted brake rotors make a big difference.
Stop Tech's exclusive Vac-U-Slots are machined into the rotor and help evacuate gasses and dust, shed heat, and keep the brake pad surface clean. And in wet, raining conditions, our Vac-U-Slot helps push water off the braking surface for better stopping power.
The Vac-U-Slot also serves as a visual wear indicator. The slot is machined to the rotor's minimum thickness where it crosses the outside edge. If you cannot see the slot along the outside edge, the rotor has worn down to its discard depth.
A combination of Hawk® high performance brake pads and StopTech slotted rotors will deliver superior, reliable braking for virtually all automotive, truck and SUV applications, even under hard driving and severe duty conditions.
I just put these discs on my car. I am sure they will make a big difference in the braking action of my Mustang. These discs are directional. There is a left disc, and a right disc, (because of the angled slots,) so pay attention to how you install them. Each disc has either a small L or R sticker on it. These discs come with new outer wheel bearing races already installed. So if you are replacing the wheel bearings you will just need the bearings themselves.
