1983-1993 Mustang Dipstick & Dipstick Tube
Designed for accurate fluid reading and easy access, these filler tubes have the "no leak" hat seal and lock top stick. Since many transmissions build up pressure, the lock top stick helps prevent the fluid from blowing out of the dipstick and going everywhere.
To check the transmission oil level on a 1983-1993 Mustang you will need to crank the engine and drive around until it is at normal operating temperature. Once at operating temperature place your Mustang on a level surface, put it in park but leave the engine running. Pull the transmission dipstick and wipe it clean, then stick it back in, pull it out and take the reading.
