Honestly except for it being plastic the PI intake is one of the best intakes Ford has ever done. Light, flows great, simple and easy to install. Cars with untouched PI intakes and cams/ported heads with power adders can make well over 600 to the wheels and this is a proven fact.
The issue with the updated metal crossover ones that still exists is where the crossover attaches to the plastic itself under the tstat housing. That area is where 99% of coolant leaks happen on these intakes. That is a bad design by Ford because the plastic is thin there and that's where the hot coolant pools when the tstat is closed. For this reason, I HIGHLY recommend a brand new OEM PI intake such as this one instead of trying to find a used one for $100 or whatever online that may already have the plastic failure beginning.
Anyway, this intake arrived well packed, intact, is an OEM Ford piece and replaced my leaking metal crossover PI intake. Only thing us PI swapped 96-98 owners have to do is tap the crossover at the flat spot by the tstat housing for a 3/8 NPT thread since the 96-98 uses two different coolant sensors, one for the gauge and one for the ECU. Easy enough to DIY or have a shop do it for $20.

I have had both an '03 and '04 GT which come with these from the factory. They're great because of the aluminium coolant crossover, but still fail due to the plastic under the thermostat giving out. If you're looking for a replacement I would go with #LRS-9424C, which features bigger runners and gaps to allow better circulation of hot air that can accumulate under this manifold which heat soaks at a faster rate.
