Because of the design of the pistons in the stock 82 5.0, you cannot install any bigger camshaft unless you change the pistons. Also the stock 82 block was not designed for a roller camshaft like the 85-95.

Unfortunately the only way to tell for sure is to install it and check clearances in your specific motor. There are tons of variables that have to be taken in to consideration when checking for clearances. Previous machine work, tolerances, etc. Trust me from personal experience, the only way to verify it will work in your specific application install it and check everything to make sure your clearances are correct.
