They are shot peened to relieve all the stress risers, and the edges are beveled to prevent the likelihood of a chip on any of the gear teeth. They're also heat treated and completely manufactured to all the same specifications as factory installed gear sets. That way you're going to have a long service life out of your new gears.
Each gear set includes a new pinion nut and crush sleeve. The Ford racing installation kit that we include in our gear kits comes with brand new ring gear bolts, carrier shims, pinion shims, marking compound, another new pinion nut and crush sleeve-- which is important in case you mess up on the installation, you have spares-- a new pinion seal, new carrier bearings, new inner pinion bearing and new outer pinion bearing.
The star of this installation kit is the inner pinion bearing, as it's the same high torque version found in the GT500. Its higher torque capacity will add increased power handling to your 8.8 rear end.
