Not really a dumb question, several makes and model vehicles used to come out with a half year model so the answer to your question is that it is possibly a half year model, which tecknically makes it an 89. or you could have a door that was replaced due to an accident or heaven forbid I say the word could have been rusted and replaced. Hope this helps you out Bro. The vin # is always the correct one though so it is an 89

you will have to modify it to work because the egr spacer is wide enough to affect the overall length of this CAI. You could leave the EGR plate on the motor and just use the EGR block off plate and then you would be able to use this.

I also have a BBK 75mm throttle body, it is a tight fit but it worked for me. I also have a larger size 95 GT MAF meter. But it is a tight fit by the throttle body for sure.

BBK offers an adapter, but it is only in a polished finish. You would have to have it painted to make it look correct. Here is the link.

Every time it rains my car starts to misfire because the MAF is getting water threw the filter. How can I fix this problem im not sure if the splash sheiks is another name for the inner fender but the inner fender is there but it's a straight shot from under the car to the filter what do I need to do to lee the filter dry?

While it would work with the motor swap, this is intended for use on a fox body fender apron. You would have to do modifications for it to work properly. In your case, I would recommend a cold air kit that keeps the filter under the hood to avoid modifications.
