Does the installation of this 155Lph fuel pump require a different fuel pressure regulator or can I use the OE factory fuel pressure regulator? If so, what upgraded fuel pump would be applicable with the OE fuel pressure regulator.
Current mods are stock internals, 73mm C&L Maf calibrated for 19lb OE injectors, ported intake close to Cobra OE specs, 65mm throttlebody w/spacer, BBK headers w/high flow cats, flowmaster mufflers, 373 gears, upper lower control arms, AOD w/shift kit. This is a Sunday 'Cruiser' that I just wanted some 'seat of the pants' extra kick.
It seems to run lean on wot when it shifts into overdrive (4th gear). Pulls real strong through 1-2-3 gears with no hesitation. I suspect that its running out of gas in overdrive @ wot. Currently has the OE factory fuel pump & regulator w/80,000 miles. If its not the fuel pump, any ideas? Timing is set @ OE specs.

First and foremost, stop allowing WOT shifts in to Overdrive! OD is not a power handling gear and is simply a band clamping around a drum. WOT OD shifts will kill your transmission in short order. If it feels like power is dropping off in OD, it is probably because the transmission is slipping.
Secondly, any of the drop in aftermarket pumps will work just fine with an OEM regulator. Any unused fuel is simply returned to the tank.
Have you installed an A/F Ratio meter to verify that a lean condition is indeed occurring? With your mods, the stock fuel system, provided all the components are in serviceable order and the fuel filter is clean, will support your car without issue.
Id suggest advancing your timing to 12° to 14° with 91 or 93 octane fuel to maximize performance.
Once again, stop shifting in to OD at WOT!

i have a 92 mustang lx. It originally was a 2.3 n/a. is now 2.5 stroker from 2.3 turbo block t3 t4 hybrid 38 # injecters. it has the 92 lx stock fuel pump and runs very lean. is the 155 lph a direct fit for all 86-97 including 4 cyl? will it supply enough fuel for my build?

The pump itself is the same on 4 cylinders vs. v8 cars so this would work for you. Whether or not it is enough depends on how much power you are running. The 155lph pump is capable of handling up to around 370hp on boosted applications. A bit over 400hp on naturally aspirated cars.
