Use the mass air conversion harness instead. It comes with enough wire to reach the computer as well as instructions.

Can I use this connector plug to upgrade my 1988 LX Cali maf? I'm planning on adding a S/C. I'm assuming I need to change the connector to the more "rounded" connectors since most aftermarket MAFs use this. My Cali Maf connector is more squared.

You are correct, the 1988 California Mass Air cars have a square connector instead of the typical oval connector. This connector will be the one you need if you wish to run any of the available aftermarket MAF meters.

I actually had to use this on my 1990 coupe. It should not take you very long at all to splice the wires and install. Remember to use heat shrink tape to cover and protect the splices that you make. It is 36" long so you can customize the length however you would like.
