Video: Mustang Water Pump Timing Cover Studs Bolts - 5.0Resto (79-93)
Published on 2013-10-22
These are a direct replacement for the factory Ford original bolts and studs used on the water pump and timing cover for 79-93 5.0L Fox Body Mustangs. Just because they are direct replacements doesn't mean they are same! We have upgraded them to 180,000 psi tensile strength with the help of ARP Fasteners.
What does all that mean for you? If you have ever broken a bolt or stud off in your timing cover or water pump then you know the benefit of a stronger bolt and stud kit. Pick up a set of these 5.0Resto bolts and studs today by clicking on the link above. This LatemodelRestoration.com exclusive kit includes the needed studs & bolts to attach the timing cover to the block, & the water pump to the timing cover along with the nuts to retain the A/C & power steering bracket & the nut for the rear smog pump brace on your 1979-1993 Mustang 5.0L or 5.8L.
Available for the following year models: 1979 (79) - 1980 (80) - 1981 (81) - 1982 (82) - 1983 (83) - 1984 (84) - 1985 (85) - 1986 (86) - 1987 (87) - 1988 (88) - 1989 (89) - 1990 (90) - 1991 (91) - 1992 (92) - 1993 (93)
Jmac: If you've ever removed the water pump on a '79 to '93 V8 Mustang, then you may have figured out that the hardware is failure prone, meaning you could break a bolt or stud off in the block. And believe me, that can be a pain to fix.
Luckily, we've got this 5.0 Resto exclusive water pump and timing cover hardware kit. It's made out of chromoly steel and is nominally rated to 180,000 PSI tensile strength. That's fair margin stronger than grade eight hardware and significantly better off than the factory hardware it's designed to replace. It's also black oxide coated for corrosion resistance.
This is available not only in a complete kit with all the nuts, bolts, and studs you need to attach your water pump and timing cover to small-block Ford in a '79 to '93 Mustang, it's also available in a kit with just the water pump hardware and just the timing cover hardware.
So whether you're putting together a whole new motor or simply replacing a few parts on your existing engine, don't mess around with that failure-prone stock hardware.
