Door Panels = Key Interior Component
As far as Mustang interiors go there are only a few components that you will see or touch on a regular basis: carpet, seats, dash/console, and door panels. Out of this list door panels get overlooked probably more than anything else, but when you consider how your Mustang's door panel affects your overall driving experience you start to wonder why. During normal driving your left arm will rest on the arm rest that is secured to the door panel. Not only is the arm rest a handy place to set your elbow, but it also houses your window and door lock switches considering that your Mustang has power windows and locks.
The door panel is not just there for convenience, it also serves an important purpose: blocking out excessive road noise that comes from the door cavity. Door cavities are a breeding ground for squeaks, rattles, knocks, and other annoying sounds. If your Mustang's door panel is ill fitting, not properly installed, damaged or missing these sounds will find their way into your interior and eventually drive you nuts! Do yourself a favor and pick up a set of these brand new, fully assembled, deluxe door panels. Install them with the brand new door panel clips (included) and drive your Mustang in peace! Your ears will thank you!
I bought the deluxe door panels because I wanted something higher quality and less work than the economy door panels. After receiving the correct door panels I noticed that you cannot just install the door panels. All of the holes for the armrests and need to be cut out of the vinyl and padding. This isn't a huge deal, but it takes time. The vinyl appears to be decent quality, however the overall quality leaves a lot to be desired. The seam across the top was placed lower than the factory panels, which causes the door handle bezel to overlap the seam. Also, the mounting taps for the lock pin grommets are clearly visible from the top. The speaker grills are gray plastic and painted black which can be scratched easily. My recommendation is to spend a few more dollars buy the TMI door panels. Had I not already cut the holes for the armrests, I would have returned these.
i know the correct year is available, but I prefer this one. Asked by Chris N.from Wynnewood | Comment00
Best Answer: This will work just fine. The reason for the year ranges is due to the cosmetic design differences and on colors such as smoke gray vs. titanium gray. These will work just fine on your 89. Answered by Karson S.from Hewitt | Comment00
Everytime I have delt with LateModel, it seems to get better and better. I have had all positive experiences which is much more than i can say about Summit, or American Muscle. I like the mom and pop shop feel i get when i deal with LateModel. We had a family buisness turning wrenches and a huge part of our success was customer service. Specifically treating every single female as how we would want our sister of mother treated when going to a buisness. We were always more than fair, accommodating and made sure to make all of our customers leave with a smile. And it worked. 30 years later my brother is still in buisness. Yesterday, I got that same type of treatment by Ian. Thank you Ian, you really went above and beyond like this was your personal buisness. Late Model, you just def locked in another lifelong customer thanks to Ian. Semper Fi
