I first painted both hinges with glossy black duplicolor paint ahead of time.
I replaced both the drivers and passenger side lower hinge. both doors would not stay open and just about cut off your shins if you weren't paying attention. I was able to replace both of them without removing the fender, I used painters tape to mark the hinge location on both the car and the door. I also used the tape to mark the door on the outside of the car in 4 locations, by just taping over the seam between the door and the car and cutting the tape with a razor blade. I unbolted the door using 2 floor jacks with towels folded over several times on them to keep from messing up the door and my 10 year old son to keep the door upright. I also put electrical tape on the extension to keep from messing up the paint on the fender. After the door was unbolted, I slid it back then unbolted the bottom hinge and replaced it.

Got this because the door would not hold open and slam shut when on a incline. Used the jack stands to hold the door while I changed it out (with my wife holding it steady) and used the painters tape to mark the position. Took about 2 Hrs. Very happy with the results.

Received part- was skeptical about install- lot of people said fender had to be removed- it did not- simple install- unbolt door from hinge- support door with jack- slide ie back a couple of inches to get to hinge body bolts- remove hinge- replace with new- lined up by eye- door no longer sags- -and opens and closes like new- great product- very happy with purchase

I bought this lower hinge and also the upper hinge. My lower hinge was so messed up a pin and busing kit would not have fixed the issue but instead act more as a band-aid. Turns out all I needed was the lower hinge. I suggest starting with the lower hinge this way, if it was just the lower hinge that was the main problem, you'll save money. I pre painted both so I can't return the upper hinge now. Waste of money. The design of the hinges have a bushing between the pin and hinge. The bushing wears out from the weight of the door. Most of the weight is on the bottom hinge. If you take a close look you might be able to tell if it's completely gone and had the hole hollowed out if that's the case you need this lower hinge. But the upper might be able to be saved with the much cheaper pin kit also sold on this site. Also the upper hinge appears you might need to remove the dash but I can't be sure I didn't look into it far enough. The lower hinge is much simpler. Remove door bolts support door with padded Jack first and pull door back out of the way as far as the harness will allow exposing the bolts. Remove two outer bolts 13mm and one inner nut 21mm. Swap hinge reverse procedure and adjust body line. That's my two cents. Maybe lmr can make a video for both hinges?
