Great quality product! My A/C works much better now and flows a ton more air. My old one was leaking and getting pluged up from debris on the coils so this made a major improvement on my car.

Cons. Be prepared to be creative with this repair as there is no easy access to remove the old unit. You Tube video's were a big help for me before getting started since the outer box has to be cut and refastened together. Ribbon seal, a thin cutting wheel and maybe a couple of screws to put the plastic back together is just about a must.

Glad I was able to do on my own as a shop wanted a fortune for this repair. Not as bad of a job as I though it would be so don't be scared! It's worth it to not be all sweaty in August!

Thanks Latemodel!

I purchased this evaporator core as part of an A/C conversion on an 89 Mustang Convertible 5.0 GT. Please note that it is not mandatory you purchase a new Evaporator core with a conversion, but since I was in need of changing the heater core I opted to go ahead and replace this as well since they both require dash removal. Let me just say that disassembly of the dash only took about an hour to complete and about another hour for separation of heater core, evaporator, and blower fan housing. This housing is screwed and glued together from the factory and There is no easy way to separate the top and bottom half to access the evaporator core. Taking my time I used a decent heat gun (not a blow drier) to heat the seam just enough to make it slightly pliable. Working one area at a time, I was able to pull the two halves apart using my hands. To reassemble the housing I used 3M black adhesive and gasket. Run a small bead all the way around on both halves, mate them back together, wrap it with Bungee straps, and allow to set overnight. This process worked well for me as cutting a top hole in the housing just was not an option. Reassembly of the dash will take you another hour or two giving you remembered how it was taken apart. This is a time consuming task, but if I did it, I know someone else can as well, just be patient and don't get in a hurry. This will most likely save you several hundreds of dollars doing it yourself. This was my first time to perform an operation of this sort. The evaporator core appeared to be of good quality and will work with factory R-12 or R-134a systems.
