If your transmission has just a bare hole where the speedometer cable goes you will need to get the cable without speed sensor. The only time you would use the one with speed sensor is if your transmission still had the speed sensor sticking out of the side.

If it is still working but making noise, it is very common for the internal lubrication to dry up. You can get a graphite type grease or spray and spray it down one of the ends and work it back and forth to ensure it lubricates the entire cable, and that should quiet it back down for you.

I noticed on my 90 aod fox while im driving around town on D i hear a small tick and wind on 3rd gear. Once i hit the highway and speed up and shift to OD my speedometer goes crazy reaching 100mph while im maybe cruising at 70mph and after a while it almost goes into a full 360* and the noise gets louder. Would this help fix my speedometer and mark the correct mph?
