Product Description

This A/C Conversion kit will completely and correctly upgrade your fox body 1987-88-89-90-91-92-93 Mustang's R-12 system to the newer R-134A system. It includes a new Mustang compressor, lines, condensor, all hardware and instructions to upgrade. This kit fits 87-93 5.0L Mustang without smog pump. This kit Converts stock Mustang A/C Components to aftermarket, which means a more efficient compressor, bracketry, and new refrigerant hoses for use with the less expensive R-134A refrigerant.

Problems with Mustang A/C systems can come from various sources-leaks, parts failure, electrical gremlins, and thermal issues. Any one of these-and quite often a combination of them-can cause the A/C system to blow warm air. Typically, the fix is to replace the offending part or reseal the leak and then recharge the system. Unfortunately, with R-12 refrigerant prices being what they are, even a simple $20 O-ring repair will require several hours labor and more than $200 in R-12.

Many people sought to convert their Mustang R-12 systems to R134a simply because the latter is cheaper, readily available, and can be bought without a license. Unfortunately, when R134a is introduced into a stock R-12 system with nothing more than a few new seals and some oil (the popular R134a conversion kits you see at the parts store), the A/C system isn't as efficient and vent-outlet temperatures rise. The best way to repair your A/C system and properly convert to R134a is to replace the components that hinder the R134a conversion, namely the condenser and the compressor.

Hose Wizard's R134a conversion kit for 5.0 Mustangs is the perfect choice for this repair. The easy-to-install kit includes a high-flow R134a condenser, a Sanden rotary compressor, hoses, mounting brackets, and R134a pressure switches.

For more info, look at this install article that Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine did on this kit!

* * * NOTE* * *Hood Clearance Warning!

Due to after-market hose design and slightly different hose routing, it is necessary to check for hood clearance issues between the A/C line service caps and the hood. Failure to check for clearance can cause hood damage. If service port interference is found, please slightly bend down A/C line for service cap to clear hood.

The components of this A/C Conversion kit are designed to work as a kit and are not available seperately. OEM Ford parts WILL NOT interchange with these 134a conversion kits!

  Cold air is good air
By on 8/1/2014
After more than 10 years without AC in my 1991 mustang GT, i was getting really sweaty in the driver seat from al the radiant heat in the rear of the engine bay. I bought this kit and had it installed last week. the air is so cold i can roll around with the windows up and the AC on... something i could never do before this kit... and be comfortable. The only reason i'm not giving it 5 stars is because on a modded mustang like mine, it's not a direct bolt on. it didn't fit the stock mount, in the stock location, so we had to fabricate one, and also the belt supplied didn't fit my application, so i had to buy a new one that did. so although the cold air is wonderful, just be aware that you may need some extra fabrication or a new belt, depending on your set up.

  Nice Quality System

I deleted the A/C off my Fox and didn't have any of the original parts besides the brackets, etc. This setup fit perfect and blows cold! Make sure you have a good cooling setup / Fan with this system to keep the compressor cool.

  87-93 Mustang 5.0L Air Conditioning Conversion Kit R-12 - R-134

My a/c had multiple problems, so I ordered this kit. It arrived within a week. It is a complete kit, and very reasonably priced. LRS saved me time and alot of a lot of money, from trying to piece together all the parts on my own. Thank you LRS.
