1987-93 FORD MUSTANG QUARTER WINDOWS HATCHBACK - FOX BODY Part # LRS-29710A-K Brand: 50Resto Fits: Ford Mustang LX, GT & Cobra Years: 1987 (87) - 1988 (88) - 1989 (89) - 1990 (90) - 1991 (91) - 1992 (92) - 1993 (93)
If you've got an '87 to '93 Fox Mustang hatchback with the rotten quarter window disease, and you've decided that a set of covers just isn't for you, then you're faced with completely replacing those old quarter windows. Follow along, and I'll show you the steps required to get the job done. Carefully remove the side headliner trim pieces from above the door opening.
Remove the seat belt shoulder strap anchor bolt. Remove all of the trim panel retaining screws. You'll have three at the front, one at the top, one through the coat hook, one midway down. Remove the four screws and the rear headliner trim piece. Then remove the four screws going down the back of the panel. Finally, you can remove the two screws retaining the hatch cover mount.
Gently pull the panel inward. Repeat for the other side. Remove the nine quarter window retaining nuts. From the outside, pull the window away from the body and remove it from the car. Clean away all the remaining butyl sealer and thoroughly clean the area behind the window. Take your new quarter window in your 50Resto install kit, and place new butyl sealer on the window.
Carefully position the new window in place and loosely install the nine new retaining nuts. Starting in the middle, slowly start snugging down the retaining nuts, working your way around the window several times until the window is fully seated. Do not over tighten. Be very careful throughout this process. While you've got your interior panels taken loose, it's a great opportunity to go ahead, clean them up, maybe even do a little paining if you need to.

Had a problem with an order/quality issue. I put up a review stating so, and was contacted by Mike Linley, who was soooo nice and sooo professional, I almost felt bad about my review !! I felt the review was necessary because of bad welds/paint. Mike explained that they had a particular issue with that supplier and they had changed suppliers because of it. I must have mistakenly got an old set. (upper/lower Control arms-Foxbody). Mike asked a few questions, and was Sending me an updated replacement set while we were on the phone.!!! This is what I wish all Vendors would do; no arguments, no blame, no B.S. !! This is why LateModel stands out as an upstanding company, and backs up their products with AWESOME Customer service. Very rare in this day and age, and because of this I will be a customer for life, and will spread the good word ! Great to know some honest and Classy companies still operate in the good ol' USA. Thanks LateModel, and Thanks Mike !!! I look forward to seeing the New LCA'S and will review them too...You guys did the right thing and should and I'm overly impressed!
