Ford Lightning AC condensers are placed behind the front Grille so that moving air will cool the freon. After liquification in your Truck's expansion valve, your A/C transmits the cold air into the interior of your Lightning.
High Quality, Direct Replacement Ford Lightning AC Condenser
The A/C condenser in your Lightning sits behind the Grille in front of the radiator so that the coolest possible air can pass through it, cooling the freon in your air conditioning system. Unfortunately, this puts it in a very vulnerable position. If you were in a front end collision while driving your Lightning, more than likely you will need to replace your A/C condenser. Fortunately, LRS has the direct replacement condenser you need for your 1999-2004 Ford F-150 Lightning.
How Does an A/C Condenser Work?
First you take freon gas and place it in a sealed system. The freon is then pressurized using a compressor. As it's pressurized, it gets hot by absorbing the heat around it. This hot gas is then circulated through the A/C condenser, which is simply a series of tubes that dissipate the heat by allowing cool air to flow around them. The freon gas can lose lots of heat (get cold) when you reduce the pressure, then as it cools it becomes a liquid.
Just a quick note to say what great people (Eddie Davis) are at Latemodel Restoration. I ordered and bought a set of Track Pack Wheels for my 2014 Mustang GT.Their prices and service is the BEST in the MUSTANG INDUSTRY, not only the price and service but the honesty. The wheels came thru with the wrong center caps one call to Eddie Davis corrected the situation in one phone call and the next day I had the center caps (FORD RACING) the correct ones no BS, they just did the Right Thing, whereas in this Day and Age you don't here that often. LATEMODEL RESTORATION is the only place for your Mustangs parts and equipment, trust me try them and you will see what I mean!!
