Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust Systems add a signature growl that's best described as the "Flowmaster Sound" - A muscular, throaty rumble that announces your engine's presence. Flowmaster is the true tone of classic American muscle and performance.
For the person who is looking for a complete cat-back dual exhaust system with an aggressive tone. With easy fit in mind, these American Thunder systems from Flowmaster are mandrel bent for maximum performance and include specially selected mufflers. American Thunder systems deliver a moderate to aggressive interior and exterior tone and are suited to the enthusiast who wants their performance to be heard. Like all Flowmaster systems, the American Thunder benefits include improved throttle response, power and mileage. Designed for an easy fit, these Mustang exhaust systems include all necessary parts and hardware for easy installation.
Since Flowmaster mufflers use sound energy cancellation technology, you don't have to worry about "packing material" deteriorating and getting louder after as little as a few months. The interior case volume of the inside of a Flowmaster muffler is far superior to that of a "straight-pipe" or "straight-through" muffler design. Imagine filling a "straight-pipe" or "straight-through" muffler with water vs. filling a Flowmaster muffler with water. Which one do think would hold substantially more volume? The deflector in a Flowmaster muffler acts as a one way check valve eliminating reversion back to the engine and creates a low pressure area to help scavenge the exhaust. Flowmasters unique style of H-Chamber designs help control interior resonance inside the cab area of your vehicles. "Straight-through" muffler designs cannot. Flowmasters use fully welded construction for added strength and durability to last even when installed on high horsepower engines.
Flowmaster mufflers are made in the U.S.A.

Published on 2013-04-26 Karson recently picked up a "bone" stock 98 Chrome Yellow Cobra. Anyone who knows Karson knows that "bone" stock just isn't his style. He immediately had a plan to get this SVT Cobra performing and handling better. Below you will find a listing of the parts Karson chose for this build.

Published on 2013-10-22 Flowmaster, the exhaust technology company, has deep roots in the Mustang performance exhaust history. The Flowmaster 2 chamber muffler was one of and still is one of the most sought after exhaust additions to any Ford Mustang. Their deep throaty exhaust was made super popular during the Fox Body Mustang era with their 2 chamber 40 series mufflers that have now become muffler legends. Since then Flowmaster has evolved and branched off into more than just great sounding mufflers.
They now produce some of the best sounding and highest quality cat back and axle back systems. They also produce high flow catalytic converters, long tube headers and mid pipes to ensure they have every component you need to finish your Mustang exhaust project off the right way! And I'm Carson. We're with latemodelrestoration.com.
Now, Carson, we've got your chrome yellow cobra and a bunch of parts that are about to go on it. Before we start talking about the parts, tell me a little bit about your car.
Well, Jeff, I just picked this car up. Its bone stock. It's never been modified. And it's been fun for the last few weeks.
But it's bone stock, so it handles like a school bus, has ground clearance like a Jeep. And that exhaust, it sounds like the washing machine at the house. We need to address that today.
All right, man. I can't have you driving around sounding like a washing machine. So tell me about the exhaust components you've got.
Well, Jeff, we decided to do a Flowmaster American Thunder Series Catback to give it a little extra classic thunder sound. And to free up a few extra ponies, we've gone with the BBK off-road H-pipe. Now, to keep that check engine light off, we've gone with a set of our SVE MIL eliminators.
All right, man, that should sound great. Now, I see you've also picked up the suspension components to get rid of that ride height. Tell them a little bit more about what you went with.
Well, to get that stance where I want it, I went with the set of the Eibach Sportline lowering springs. To keep them quiet, we've gone with the BBK grip package spring isolators, front and back. Now, to get that alignment in check, we've gone with a set of J&M caster camber plates. And to give that dampening what it needs to be with those springs, we've gone with a set of the Tokico HP shocks and struts.
And that should be riding around really nice. Now you've also picked out some wheels and tires. Tell me what you went with.
Yeah, I couldn't leave that alone either. I went a set of chrome 18-inch Saleen wheels-- 18 by 9 up front and 10 out back-- and wrapped them with a set of Nitto NT555s all the way around.
All right, man, this is going to take a little bit of time. So let's get this project going.
Let's get to it.
All right, guys, we're more than halfway through the install. The front suspension is finished. Jonathan and Carson are working on the Catback and the H-pipe. Stay tuned for more coverage once we've finished.
All right, Carson, you finished the car yesterday. You took it home for a test drive. Tell me how the suspension worked out for you?
Well, Jeff, I couldn't be happier. The stance is exactly where I wanted it to be. It handles like it's on rails. And the BBK prothane isolators kept those springs whisper quiet. I'm extremely pleased with it.
All right, now you also went with the J&M caster camber plates. Tell me about that install.
Well, the instructions were real thorough. It's very intuitive. It's not bad at all. The only thing that you have to be careful with on this platform, you do have to drill an extra hole on each strut tower. As long as you're careful with that, it's a piece of cake.
All right, sounds like a cake walk. Now, the suspension looks great. You also wanted to get rid of that washing machine sound. Tell me about that exhaust system you went with.
Well, Flowmaster hit the nail on the head. It gives that rumble I was hoping for. BBK uncorked this car. It's completely a different animal now with that off-road H-pipe. I'm real happy with it.
All right, the car does sound great. Man, you're always restoring Mustangs. You're fixing up new ones. Can't wait to see what the next project is that you have planned.
It's in my blood. I enjoy working on these cars. And I can't wait to get the next project.
All right, guys, for more project videos, make sure you check out latemodelrestoration.com.

Flowmaster - The Exhaust Technology Company Flowmaster operates the only exhaust Research & Design facilities of its kind in the world, centered around the SuperFlow SF-7100 engine dynamometer complete with E.C.A. (engine cycle analysis) equipment and also SuperFlow chassis dyno's.
Through use of these dyno's, Flowmaster's engineering staff can track the complete engine cycle in millionths of a second and can obtain exact technical data of each degree of cam rotation, from induction to the tip of the exhaust system, while also showing the power numbers that really matter, the power numbers "to the ground."
Flowmaster also utilizes Spectrum Analyzers to fine "tune" the sound of each of the eleven different series of mufflers that Flowmaster currently offers, both for peak performance and just the right sound levels and tones. Flowmaster's dedication to quality is what makes them the exhaust industry leader for Latemodel Mustangs and SVT Lightnings!
This is by far the best experience I have ever had buying parts for my mustang. There is no other place for me, then LatemodelResto. I have bought multiple parts over multiple orders and have had nothing but a smile from ear to ear. Aaron Westerman was my contact person from LatemodelResto. I could not ask for a better customer service representative than him! He went above and beyond multiple times for me and made my experience with Latemodel the reason I keep coming back. LatemodelResto will continue being my #1 stop for my Mustang parts.
