I have an 88 GT that I'm trying to find a relay for. The relay is located under the air box on the passenger side. I know that in late 92 and 93 cars this is where the fuel pump relay is locted. My question is what relay is this on my 88 GT?

I got an 88 mustang GT. I was having problems with it and my pump didnt wanna prime. My relay under my saet had power and the relay on the side panal on passanger side too. My inertia switch wasnt getting any power so we used a jump wire to trick the new fuel pump and it works. Question is. Would the WOT relay have anything to do with no power to the inertia switch and not letting the pump prime?

No sir, the WOT relay is for the A/C compressor clutch and what it does is turn off the A/C compressor at wide open throttle. If your under-seat fuel pump relay is indeed functioning properly, then you have a wiring open between the relay and the inertia switch.

Will this relay, if it is damaged or becomes faulty, cause the fuel pump to malfunction or cause the fuel pump not to energize? I am currently in the middle of installing a maximum motorsports roll bar in my 1987 Mustang GT. I attempted to start the car, it ran for about 3 seconds then died. I have spark coming from the coil but no fuel pressure. I do not hear the fuel pump energizing. I noticed this relay located underneath the drivers seat.

It can. It really sounds like you may have another issue. I suggest purchasing a service manual and looking up the wiring diagram for the fuel pump. Also borrow or purchase a digital volt meter and start proving out the circuit from the front all the way to the back.

I have a 92 LX 5.0 that the fuel pump failed on me so I thought. I replaced the fuel pump with a BBK and checked all the fuses. After I replaced the pump i spent about 20 minutes of trying start it then all of a sudden it primed and started. I stopped and started it about 50 times over two days then on the third and each day since no prime from the pump and it wont start.Under the seat the is some wires with a plug but nothing plugged into it an no sign that anything has been for a while. Any ideas I am lost?

If nothing is plugged into it and this is an early 92, it sounds like someone has been modifying the wiring. Unfortunately that is going to require some work to trace down. I would get a test light or volt meter and start from the back and work your way to the front and inspect all of the wiring. Having said that, if this is a mid to late production 92, then the relay is located under the hood. It will look similar to part number LRS-14089A. If that's the case, I would inspect it and in some cases you can lightly tap it with a hammer to get it to work. These are prone to fail, so that very well could be your issue.
