This Anderson Naturally Aspirated Power Pipe® is designed for Pro-M 77/80 shorty meter & Abaco 85mm DBX on 1986-1993 Mustang 5.0L applications. Anderson Power Pies feature Mandrel bent 3-1/2" Ceramic coated (inside and out) pipe that puts the mass air and air cleaner in the inner fenderwell for a cooler intake charge for added H.P. Additional benefits of the Power Pipe is better driveability for Mustangs with bigger profile camshafts.
AFM Normally Aspirated Power Pipes were developed because of the need for higher volume, better flowing intake pipes needed with the higher RPM 4.6/5.0 and the bigger cubic inch 347/408. With the volume of air these engines need, the small factory rippled intake pipes are too restrictive and the cold air intake pipes are too small of volume. They rely on the cooler intake charge to gain H.P., which cannot be chassis Dyno tested. AFM dyno's each Power Pipe® to verify H.P. gains. The mass air is in the inner fenderwell, but we do not rely on the cooler intake to make the extra H.P. We do it in design and testing.
Comes with inlet to fit 75mm and smaller throttle bodies. Does not include Mass Air Meter or Air Cleaner. This will NOT fit a 90mm throttle body.
Purchased the 3.5" powerpipe instead of the 4" version to avoid cutting the access hole larger on my car. I got the product installed and the car ran horrible! Extremely lean and stalling. Also I figured for the price the pipe would be aluminum but it's very heavy mild steel. The customer service at Latemodel Restoration was great and they took care of me.
Sounds like there may have been more happening here, like an air leak or MAF calibration.

Very happy with the 3.5 inch Anderson Power Pipe everything need to just plug and play when you have your matched mass and air filter assembly to accompany it. Works perfect with my GT 40 Tubular setup

Had a problem with an order/quality issue. I put up a review stating so, and was contacted by Mike Linley, who was soooo nice and sooo professional, I almost felt bad about my review !! I felt the review was necessary because of bad welds/paint. Mike explained that they had a particular issue with that supplier and they had changed suppliers because of it. I must have mistakenly got an old set. (upper/lower Control arms-Foxbody). Mike asked a few questions, and was Sending me an updated replacement set while we were on the phone.!!! This is what I wish all Vendors would do; no arguments, no blame, no B.S. !! This is why LateModel stands out as an upstanding company, and backs up their products with AWESOME Customer service. Very rare in this day and age, and because of this I will be a customer for life, and will spread the good word ! Great to know some honest and Classy companies still operate in the good ol' USA.
