chris johns - 1998 Ford Mustang
I saved my 1998 3.8 5spd Mustang from the scrap yard when the previous owned junked it due to a blown clutch. I bought my mustang mostly stock except for Flowmaster dual exhaust, billet interior trim, and mild engine work to include cam and gasket matched intake. So began the transformation that you see before you, For engine I added BBK under drive pulley kit and cold air intake, and added a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter with cobra shift knob to the top of the T-5 tranny, all tuned with a Sniper Special Forces tuner. For handling I added 17inch Gunmetal Bullet style rims wrapped with 255/40/ZR17 Kumo rubber, droped it on Eibach sportline springs, upgraded to GT sway bars with new Prothane bushings , Ford racing strut tower brace and Gabriel shocks/struts. Swapped the 7.5 rear for an 8.8 out of a turbo coupe with 3.73 gears and a Tubular Rear Control Arm Kit, and 17 inch Cobra R replica wheels wrapped in BFG drag radials for track duty.
For visual and comfort I added Gt leather seats, custom painted interior trim, JVC DVD/CD system with twin 7 inch screens front and rear. Sunshine yellow graphics, carbon fiber hood locks and Xenon hood scoop complete the exterior package. This setup was good enough for a 4th place trophy at the 1on1Motorsports Summer shoot-out in Bitburg Germany- May 2010.
