Hi LMR, I'm a big fan. This is just one of my cars, a 1981 Ford Fairmont Wagon. I also have an 89 Mustang LX convertible and my son just got a 2003 v6 Mustang.
I found this wagon on the Internet in Florida. The last picture I uploaded with it on the truck is the "before" picture.
I really wanted a proper 80s wagon with a roof rack and I found it. Baby blue and everything!
I got it home to Virginia and went to work. It has all 95 GT brakes and spindles with the 8.8 rear. A PA AOD transmission mated to a 351 Windsor. UPR tubular k-member, coil overs up front, SVE control arms, Magnaflow exhaust, custom aluminum driveshaft, etc - and the list goes on and on.
I just finished about a 2200 mile road trip in it to Tampa, Florida and back - with no air conditioning in late June! I have already bought the A/C parts and will be working on that next. But the trip was great fun anyway albeit a little sweaty.
The wagon is great. I can pile my fiance and both of our kids in the car (with lots of luggage) and still leave nice black streaks down the road.
