1987 Ford Mustang LX Convertible - Larry Shuck
I bought it as a converted 87 4cyl to an 88 GT HO 5.0(stock)LX vert. Car was in really rough shape and it took me almost 3 years(lost interest a few times) to get it 80% complete. It's not a show/race car by any means, was just bought to buzz around in and go to the local ice cream shop. It came out pretty good, but the pictures make it look really good. I got the car, scoop, wing, wheels, beauty bar and deck lid all from different guys off of Craig's list. I got the new style 5.0 emblems, new Ford blue ovals frt & rear, Mustang door sills & outer door wipers & trim, convertible top boot, gas door and trunk rubber bumpers, gas tank sending unit, rubber filler neck grommet, gas tank straps, numerous bolts and fasteners, cup holder, speedometer gear for trans, door locks, horn repair kit, and 2 1/2 SS dual exhaust tailpipes all from Late Model Restoration!! GREAT PARTS GUYS/GALS!!!!
The floor was all repaired with 16 Ga. galvanized and the the floor, underneath, gas tank, drive shaft and the trunk were all coated with Chassis Black paint. It has all new brake lines, shocks, struts, shoes, pads, u joints, frt wheel bearings & seals, pinion and trans seal, radiator, water pump, belt, timing chain, Thrush Welded Mufflers, new windshield, new one piece headlights, brake light switch, new frt seat belts, Cooper Cobra's, and tunes by Sony. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things but that is the majority of the parts. I haven't done anything with the top yet, it's not terrible, but it certainly needs to be replaced. Since I don't plan on using the car in cold weather, it may be fine for quite awhile yet. :)
