This is my baby! I bought her brand new as a 2003 Mustang V6 and immediately suffered from buyer's remorse. I contemplated supercharging the V6 but after hearing the exhaust notes of wide open V6 Stangs, I wished for a V8. With barely 33,000 miles on the odometer,I succumbed to my desires for V8 power. My friend Henry and I transplanted a 4.6 liter V8, 4R70W transmission, and necessary accessories and wiring from a wrecked GT and gave my ride a significantly different attitude.
Since transplanting the new engine, I have made the following modifications to my ride (all self installed). Tork Tech TVS 1900 Intercooled Supercharger, 8.8" rear end with 3.55 gears, Ford Racing Cobra front and rear brake upgrade kit with braided stainless steel lines. UPR front suspension with tubular K member, "A" arms and coilovers. Ford Racing shorty headers. BBK catted mid pipe. Magnaflow cat back exhaust. JLT/Densecharger cold air intake. SVT Focus fuel pump and Kenne Bell boost a pump. Lakewood rear lower control arms with Ford Racing "C" springs. Tork Tech elongated hood scoop. 2003/2004 Cobra front bumper and side skirts. FR500 replicas. Sequential tail lights.
Still a work in progress, I am in the process of rebuilding a 2003/2004 Cobra short block to replace the stock 4.6 bottom end. This will allow me crank up the boost from the current 10psi.
I have been tempted many times to buy a new 5.0 and "ulp" sell my baby. However, when I look at the scars on my knuckles, I come to my senses rather quickly. I have too much blood and sweat invested in this car to ever get rid of it. With all of the time and money I have invested I'd imagine my wife would kill me if I ever got rid of it. So it's here to stay!!!
